How to join

You can't join this one vanilla — the mod has to be on your side too. Takes two minutes.

  1. Install Fabric

    Fabric Loader 0.16+ for Minecraft 1.21.1, plus Fabric API.

  2. Get the mod from Discord

    The current build is pinned in the Discord. Drop the .jar into .minecraft/mods.

  3. Add the server

    Multiplayer → Add Server → playchameleon.net. No port, no mc. prefix.

  • Match the wall exactly, not approximately.
  • Or press one key and wear whatever you're looking at.

Hide where nobody looks

Chameleons climb. Walls, fences, ceilings — then lock in place and become part of the room.

  • Eleven poses, so you're furniture, not a player standing still.
  • Decoy clones — leave a copy of yourself somewhere stupid.

No name tags. No shadows. No hitbox outlines. If you want them, you have to actually see them.

  • F3+B is dead during a round. Nobody debug-views their way to a win.
  • Hiders can whistle. They usually don't.

FAQ

Do I need the mod, or can I join vanilla?

You need it. Rounds, teams, and other players' camo are all server-side and won't work without it. On a vanilla server the mod falls back to client-only — you'd see your own paint and wall-cling, nothing else.

Is it free?

Yes. The mod is free, the server is free to join, and there's no whitelist and no application.

What version and loader?

Minecraft 1.21.1 on Fabric — Loader 0.16 or newer, plus Fabric API. Java Edition only; Bedrock can't join.

Where is the server?

The EU. If you're playing from further out you'll feel it, but hide & seek is far more forgiving of ping than PvP.

Is there a store? Is it pay to win?

The store isn't open yet. When it is, it sells cosmetics — name colours, trails, outfits, gun skins, death animations — and faster XP toward those same cosmetics. Nothing you can buy makes you harder to find, or better at finding anyone.
